| Abstract(in English) | Abstract:This paper presents a method of identifying a person from a facial image regardless of the direction in which the image is facing.We propses a recognition system with templates extracted from facial images whose direction are different one another.Each template is represented by the mosaic pattern of a facial image normalized against shape,size and brightness.A mosaic pattern extracted from a unknown facial image is recognized by the nearest neighbor decision rule.The method can classify 20 poeple who face toward 65 directions at the rate of 98 percent. |
