| Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we propose a new framework which we call Advanced Technological Information Space(ATIS). This framework supports intelligent information retrieval(i.e. information exploration). We identify intelligent support facilities for constructing and exploring ATIS. First we propose a notion of KP(knowledge Piece) which helps to semi-automatically construct ATIS. A KP is a knowledge chunk which can be made by heuristic natural language,process. We can utilize KPs to summarize and survey technical information. We next developed an experimental system METlS(METallurgy papers Intelligent Surveyor) in metallurgy papers. The evaluation by metallurgy experts using 29 technical papers shows the effectiveness of our system METlS. |
