Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new operator for knowledge base change, guess and its extension set-revision. So far, revision, update and arbitration, have been proposed as knowledge base change operators. There, however, exists a case that these change operators give a unnatural result. The guess operator gives a natural result when possible descriptions of a given world have no priority each other. In order to define guess operator, we use a model-theoretic approach. Furthermore, we point out that set-revision can also be characterized as an extension of revision and and arbitration.
