A Concept of Software Component Agentification

Abstract(in English) Software reuse is a technology to improve the efficiency of development and maintenace of large systems. The important problem in the technology is to retrieve the components that a programmer wants to reuse and to modify them to adapt it to the others. On the other hand, a mechanism for changing reusable software components that are called active components has been studied in order to solve this problem. In this paper, we propose the method to realize the active components based on the agent model. Agentified components have the ability to constitute a component organization that satisfies a module specification required by the programmer and to change themselves into forms that adapt other components in the organization.
