Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper propose a support system which supplies expert knowledge on the network environments to the novice administrator of the networks The authers design and implement an inventoly Configuration SupportSystem which enables the end users to modify the configuration by referring the database and the candidates of values. The authors also design and implement a Trouble Prevention Support System by using trouble detecting knowledge base. They define the relationships between the watching items and the threshold values based on the structure of the network system.Even if the administrator has not enough knowledge on the system structure or real cases of trouble, this system enables him/her to discover the parts of trouble or overloaded. In order to evaluate the inventory Configuration System, they counted the queries to the administrator when the users set the configuration. The statistical test shows that this system is effective for the users. To evaluate trouble detecting knowledge base, they intentionally overloaded the networks. The result shows that the knowledge base works well for the supplement of administrator's knowledge.
