Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A number of the Internet search engines are provided for finding information. Among the crucial problems of them are (1) how to choose appropriate ones among a lot of searched results, (2) how to reduce load and traffic of information, and (3) how to deal with outdated information. In this paper, we propose a new approach to the information resource management in the wide-area and large-scale networks. In this ("word-of-mouth") method, software agents are distributed in the network and they transmit the evaluation information as well as the information itself in the word-of-mouth means among them. This method helps with reducing information traffic by localizing the information transmittance, promoting the circulation of useful information, and discarding useless and out-of-dated information by making use of the evaluation data.
