Knowledge and Information Sharing System in Office Environment : Knowledge-based Approach

Abstract(in English) We have developed a knowledge/information sharing system on WWW which supports collecting, storing and utilizing knowledge in office environment. The system has two data storage; 1) a knowledge-base which stores semantically-structured knowledge describing entity and activity in office by model of organization, business process and documents and 2) a knowhow-base which stores free-format knowledge describing personal knowhow, skill and experience. By combining knowledge of two different type the system understands user's query in natural language and proposes helping information. Our experiments through practical use show the effectiveness of complementary use of semantically-structured knowledge and personal knowhow.
