Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Experiments of electronic money are carried out in global scale to put the system to practical use. Banking facilities and the credit card industry are fiercely competing in order to gain the de facto standard. However, the effects of electronic money are not clarified yet. In addition there are unsolved problems such as standardization, systemization, and security. This paper discusses the necessity and the way to regulate the suppliers of electronic money from the view point of social welfare maximization.
