Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a model of partnership bidding for a computer bridge. Since bridge bidding is a task of imperfect information, each player must guess partner's hand to reach a good contract. Beginners' knowledge for bidding is described in a constraint logic programming language. This knowledge is used for generating hypothetical image of partner's hand by abduction from observation of the bidding sequence. In our model, a player's next bid depends on the image of partner's hand, and also partner's last bid depends on the image of the player's hand, so on. The integrity among those images is checked by our hypothetical reasoning system.
