Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper will review the technologies of a synthetic-pinned spin-valve film and a synthetic-pinned specular spin-valve one which are used for the read-head in a hard-disk drive and are key technologies for achieving the improvement in the recording density. The design of the film structure of synthetic-pinned spin-valve for attaining the higher pinning-field and MR-ratio is shown and the oscillations in the exchange coupling between free and pinned layers of the specular spin-valve films with good reflectivity in specular layers are introduced.
