Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dependence of transition noise on writing head field in perpendicular magnetic recording was studied by transition jitter measurement and simulation. By using single-pole type head, Increment of writing current resulted in the depression of transition jitter and less medium noise. Transition jitter was inversely proportional to head field gradient. Sharpening head field gradient was an efficient method in order to reduce the medium noise.
