Preparation of c-axis oriented CoCrPt single crystal thin films on oxide single crystal substrates

Abstract(in English) CoCrPt single crystal thin films were prepared on single crystal substrates of Al_2O_3, LaAlO_3, and SrTiO_3. A good single crystal of c-axis oriented CoCr_<19>Pt_<10> thin film was obtained on Al_2O_3(0001) substrate, when the CoCr_<19>Pt_<10> film was deposited via a non-magnetic CoCr_<25>Ru_<25> underlayer. Structural analyses were carried out by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The epitaxial relationships between the magnetic layer and the substrate were determined for respective oxide substrates. It is elucidated that the substrate and the non-magnetic underlayer play important roles for the growth of CoCrPt single crystal thin film with good crystallographic quality.
