Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A near field optical technique based on combined supersphere solid immersion lens(SIL)with magnetic field modulation(MFM)recording is described for high density magneto-optical recording. The analysis of read-write performance of this system has been developed in this paper. A better resolution has been achieved by using SIL with MFM recording in comparison with light intensity modulation(LIM). We found that recorded mark of 0.3 μm × 0.2 μm could be obtained. These marks were readout by the SIL head with a typical signal to noise ratio value of 36 dB. The present study demonstrated the capability to achieve a very high areal density beyond 20 Gb / in^2
