Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Some Co-Cr-Ta-Mo perpendicular magnetic recording disk media with different amount of Mo were prepared. The percentage of Mo amount in the media was from 1.3 to 5.1 at.%. Magnetic properties, crystal structure and recording characteristics of those media were investigated. The media whose Mo amount were from 0 to 3.5at.% showed almost the same output values, however media noise was decreased with increasing amount of Mo.The medium whose Mo amount was 3.5at.% had the highest S/N_m.It was 3.2dB higher at a wavelength of 0.34μm than that of the disk medium without Mo.
