Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The recording density of the D6 format HDTV digital video cassette recorder(VCR) was doubled compared with that of the 1- inch HDTV digital VTR.The recording time of more than one hour was achieved by using D2 cassette housing.Based on the high density recording techniques,we commercialized this VCR with full editing functions, and while maintaining compatibility and sufficient picture quality even in insert editing. This report describes the key techniques in D6 recording format which enables us to apply this VCR to the multiple HDTV standards.
