Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For high density recording media, the magnetic grains are magnetically isolated and the grain diameter is as small as 10nm. In spite of such control of microstructure, magnetic clusters observed by MFM remain in sub-micron range in diameter. We studied the relation between the microstructure and the recorded magnetization or DC noise by TEM and MFM observation and the computer simulation. It has been revealed that the non-uniformity of the crystal orientation and the cluster size showed the strong correlation to the DC noise and the partial erasure.
