Abstract(in English) Although the huge numbers of character patterns are required for improving on-line character recognition performance, large-scale database including writing pressure information does not exist. In this research, an on-line character database including writing pressure information was built and exhibited, and it appeals for large-scale database construction. Furthermore, by using the database including writing pressure information, we tried to improve a recognition performance of some on-line character recognition system. By additional use of the writing pressure information was carried out at a recognition system using pattern matching, the recognition performance was improved about 4%. We proved an effect of writing pressure information by improving the on-line character recognition performance.
