Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method to make templates for view-based head pose estimation methods. The templates are labeled by their head pose using images from a single camera and the factorization. We also propose the H coordinate which represent head poses independently of the camera position. Numerical experiments show we make the templates by the subspace methods. This method enables us to estimate head poses using subspaces classified by an angle ψ (yaw) of the rotation matrix of H coordinate. Using the proposed method, the video images of moving one's head freely enable us to make the subspaces used for the head pose estimation. The H coordinate proposed in this report makes much of the rotation around the vertical axis, and enables to ignore rotations around the other axes.
