Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We introduce a novel method for intermediate view generation of soccer scene taken by multiple video cameras. In the proposed method, object scene is divided into three regions, players/ball, ground/goal and background. Using epipolar geometry in the first region and homography in the second, we generate intermediate images. For the third region, partial area image is cut out from the mosaic image synthesized from the background of multiple views. Synthesizing them completes intermediate image. Applying this method to actual soccer scene played at the stadium, we succeeded in generating natural intermediate views.
