Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this research, in order to efficiently and stably fit local plane in noisy range data, we derived several methods for approximate estimation the optimal local plane fitting, under a noise model of range data obtained by time fly laser range finder. Then we compared our methods with both general least-squares-based methods, such as Z-function fitting, eigenvalue method and maximum likelihood estimation method, and renormalization method, which is a iterative method to obtain the optimal estimation of the plane under the noise model. Those methods are compared and evaluated using both synthetic noise range data and real range data with ground truth. Experimental evaluation results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
