Abstract(in English) IMPRESS is a system to construct automatically the image processing procedure to extract a target area by using a given sample figure. Since the previous system constructs only a single image processing procedure, it is difficult to construct a suitable procedure in the case of containing different features in the area of a sample figure. In this paper we propose Goal Divided IMPRESS which can compose two or more image processing procedures even if there may be several features in the original image. Each procedure is constructed by the similar manner with a previous system. In order to extract the remaining region which can not be obtained by the former procedures, a sample figure is divided to the extracted part and unextracted one. Unextracted part is input again to the system and the system composes the next procedure. The final extracion result is obtained as the union of the areas extracted by each procedure. We applied the system to the problems which were difficult to extract area correponding to the sample figures for the previous system and we showed that the good result was obtained.
