Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report presents a new character input method for cellular phones. The proposed method can provide a highly efficient and nearly stress-free character input environment by incorporating an image processing module to detect the global motion of video footage captured by a CCD mounted on a cellular phone. Users are only required to twist their cellular phones toward pre-defined directions while pressing some particular button in order to input any individual Japanese character, Kana.
