Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a field extraction method from existing transmitted by fax. In faxed from images, it is difficult to extract fields as exactly because of the distortion on these from images. To solve this problem, exclusive forms with the restrictions on style, have been used. This method correct the location of fields by estimate the geometric transformation of the form image, based on matching feature-points extracted on the form image and a form model. These feature-points can be extracted even from existing forms. And the method estimates the geometric transformation with robustness for illegal pairs of corresponding feature-points. By this reason, it is possible to read existing forms transmitted by fax. The experimental results with existing forms of 50 different types reveal the effectiveness of the method.
