Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents feature edge extraction from 3D triangular meshes. We first extract candidate feature edges by introducing concavity-convexity feature value. Then, feature edges are extracted by applying a thinning algorithm. We can use the extracted feature edges as the characteristic which are used in the preprocessing step such as the multiresolution analysis, approximation of curved surface, and morphing of 3D shapes.
