A Study on Region Extraction by Active Net with New Structure

Abstract(in English) In the signal processing for image recognition, it is necessary to perform target detection and shape extraction. One of the methods that can be used to achieve this kind of processing involves the active net, which has already been proposed. This method treats the target detection from an image as an energy optimization problem. We have also already pointed out a problem associated with the structure of the conventional active net and went ahead to propose a new active net with an improved target detection ability. However, the comparison between the conventional method and the proposed one was not clearly shown. Thus, in this paper we present and compare computer simulation results for the conventional and the method we had proposed. From these results. the validity of the proposed method is made clear.
