Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We delveloped a rough classcification method for printed word recognition based on whole word pattern matching. A feature of this method is to draw special patterns from both a input word pattern and a dictonary word pattern, and correct positons of word patterns by using position of special patterns. This method can compensate horizontal positional variation of word pattern which is caused by variation of print pitch and forn and so on. We tested this method with conventional method, then we found this method could improve accumurated recognition accuracy.
