Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In general, it is difficult to transform printed documents into electronic ones though sophisticated OCR's are available in recent years. In order to solve this prolbem, we propose a new method of emdedding and recovery of a large amount of data for printed documents. Our method is characterized by the point that the data are recorded in stippled arbitrary marks printed on the background of a printed document, which serve just as background patterns for humans. This enables us to record a large amount of data without deteriorating the appearance of a printed document. From the preliminary experiments, we have confirmed that the method is capable of embedding about 8KB of data, as well as recovering 98.6% of embedded data.
