| 抄録(和) | 手書き文字認識を行う場合, 手書き文字の持つ多種多様な変形にどのように対処するかが問題となる.この問題を解決する方法として, 文字パターンを変形させてマッチングを行う方法が考えられる.本報告では, 輪郭線の方向を用いた柔軟なマッチングによる手書き文字認識手法を提案する.標準パターンを, 自分自身の方向と似ている輪郭線の方向を持った入力パターンの各部分に向かって移動させ, 柔軟に変形させる.過剰な変形により文字本来の構造を損なうのを防ぐために, 文字の構造を学習した結果をマッチングに反映させる.今回, 手書き数字データベースIPTPCDROMIを対象とした認識実験を行い, 本手法の有効性を確認した. |
| 抄録(英) | In handwritten character recognition, the central problem is how to overcome a wide variety of deformation in handwritten characters. Matching using deformable models is one of the solution for absorbing various deformation. This paper presents a method of handwritten numeral recognition using flexible matching based on contour directions. A standard pattern is deformed so that it becomes closer and closer to the input character, with referring to the similarity between the directions of each part of the pattern and of the contour of the input. In order to prevent over-matching with characters in different classes, results of learning of character structures including the ranges of deformation are reflected in the matching. |
