Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to recognize buildings in scenic images. Taking images is not restricted about direction, distance to buildings, time and weather. Therefore the appearance of buildings in images are distorted by the change of taking condition. To find out the characteristics of buildings in a image, inside of the image is sequentially scanned by small block. To complete many standard patterns of buildings to adapt the change of appearance, very large quantity of standard pattterns are needed. Using MQDF method for discriminating the buildings avoided the above problem, and the volume of caluculation and memory were decreased. Subspace method and multiple discriminant analysis were also examined. The recognition rate of 95.2% was obtained by MQDF method.
