Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The verification method when a thin fingerprint is inputted to the fingerprint verification system is described. At the fingerprint verification machine which we developed, a triangle prism is used for the image input part. There is an advantage that it is possible to design at the low price in this method. However, the quality of the image degrades with the humidity and so on and sometimes becomes a thin fingerprint and the verification ability goes down. In this paper, we examine about two techniques for previous problem. First, the technique to emphasize a thin fingerprint part using the fourier transform is described. Next, the method which maintains the pattern which is always the latest by renewing a registration pattern automatically is described. Lastly, it considers about the effectivity of these techniques.
