Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In images, X-junction edges may be given rise by overlapping transparent objects, and T-junction edges may be caused by overlapping opaque objects. At local regions in the intersections of X- and T-junction edges, edges exist at multiple orientations. In the previous study, we have proposed a novel method called "orientation space filtering" for segmentation of X- and T-junction lines[1][2]. In this paper, we extend the proposed "orientation space filtering" to detect multiple orientation edges. The problem of multiple orientation edge detection is dealt with by detecting the connected components in the orientation space. In this way, multiple orientation edges are able to be detected and separated effectively.
