CG modeling by model fitting and image matching

Abstract(in English) This paper describes CG modeling by fitting the model, which shape is parameterized, to the multiple images considering correspondences between images. The distance between the projected position of vertices of model and the position specified by the operator semiautomatically evaluates the fitting. The difference of intensities of the textures created from each image evaluates the matching of images. The operator gives the initial fitting roughly, and the precise fitting is achieved by least-squares method using iterative approximation with coarse-to-fine method. The result of experiment shows that our method obtains good texture, and the validity of simultaneous execution of model fitting and image matching.
