Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a method for event extraction by linking between visual and linguistic(closed caption)streams. Using domain knowledge about state transitions of football games, we can recognize structure of game units by classified key words and identify some key words related to the event. According to the identified key words, we then decide a time window which is the range for searching images. The shots within the time window are indexed as an event by comparing them with example images which may have much relevance to the event. The experimental results indicate that the method is effective for event extraction.
