Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With a view to reconstructing 3-D shapes of real objects and environments for virtual reality realization, we consider the problem of computing the position and internal parameters of a continuously moving camera(simultaneous calibration). For this purpose, we design a special layered marker pattern such that the position of each layer can be identified easily by computing the ratios of adjacent intervals. We generate the ratio of adjacent intervals by a Markov process. Analyzing the statistical behavior of the adjaceney ratios in the presence of noise, we derive a theoretically optimal transition probability density. We also analyze the theoretical probability densities of the resulting intervals and adjacency ratios and derive an upper bound on the recognition capability. We conduct experiments to confirm our analysis. Finally, we introduce additional techniques to improve the performance further and observe their effects by experiments.
