Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Motion detection is an important part of computer vision and image processing. Most traditional motion detection systems are classified into two categories, feature based and gradient based. In feature based motion detection, it is difficult to detect features and match them. Gradient based methods assume that the intensity varies linearly inside images locally. The method, which we propose, is neither feature nor gradient based but uses electric field theory. Assuming the pixels in an image as point charges and we detect motions in the image by using the variations between two electric fields made from these charges.
