Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper deals with full reconstruvtion of the 3D surface of an object observed in motion by a single static camera. In principle we search for the depth at each point on the surface of the object that best satisfies the recently proposed Geotensity constraint. The constraint represents the surface brightness by a linear combination of three brightnesses, and it has shown to be more vaild than the conventional constraint of constant brightness when the object is observed in motion. Within this framework, in this paper, we will first show that it is possible to estimate the illuminnant direction. Scince the knowledge of the illuminant direction enables us to recover the surface orientation simultaneously as we search for the surface depth, we then propose to utilize the estimates of surface normal to disambiguate the depth estimated that would otherwise involve multiple candidates due to the local minimums. We will illustrate the effectiveness of the proposee algorithm through expriments.
