Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multimodal technology is attracting attention as a next-generation interface technology which can take advantage of computers by using various multiple information modes such as voice and images.A technological approach is needed that overcomes the incompleteness of a single type of mode in order to improve the overall recognition rate by dealing with multiple modes in a simultaneous, integrated complementary manner. The purpose of the multimidal function field is to develop information integration technologies and learning/self-organization technologies thru such multimodal functions as understanding of human originated information and understanding of the environment.
