Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As an intermediate format of 3-D visual data, ray-based representation has been proposed. In practical use, light rays are sampled for processing by computers. In other words, four parameters which represent the position and direction of light rays are discretized. However, if the sampling is not proper, it is probable that original images are not reproduced correctly from the light rays. In this paper, we discuss the effects of the sampling on the assumption of particular ray representation method and camera arrangement. Furthermore, we present an efficient sampling method for correct reproduction of original images.
