| 抄録(和) | 本報告では文字認識結果の信頼度(確からしさ)を計算する方式を提案する。次に文字認識候補の第何位までの正解が含まれているかを知るための評価尺度である累積信頼度を定式化する。この累積信頼度を用いて、文字認識候補内に正解が含まれる確率を保ちながら候補数を少なくする方式を提案し、シミュレーションで有効性を確認した。また、提案方式を住所読み取りに応用して住所読み取りに対する有効性も評価した。 |
| 抄録(英) | This paper describes a method for reducing the number of candidates in the Kanji character recognition process of handwritten address reader. To reduce thenumber of the useless character candidates, we define accumulated reliability and use this reliability as a threshold of the candidate acceptance in the Kanji character recgnition process. This method reduces the number of the useless candidates and optimizes the Kanji character recognition process in the address reader. The efficiency of the proposed method is discussed through an experiment using IPTP CD-ROM2 Japanese address images. A reduction in the number of candidates of more than 35% was obtained without reducing the number of correct candidates. The address reading rate was maximized at 92.2%. |
