Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the research on handwritten character features such as writer recognition or signature verification, many suitable character data are necessary. In many cases, researchers ask specific writers to write specific characters repeatedly. Authors have doubted if the writers' features are fully contained in such characters as written under many restrictions. To solve such questions, authors used, as handwritten character data, daily handwritten HIRAGANA characters and repetition handwritten HIRAGANA characters, both were written by same writers. They compared shape variations of both type of characters and analysed using one-way layout variance analysis method. They found that shape variations of repetition HIRAGANA were much larger than daily HIRAGANA characters.
