Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A Gabor filter-based method to identify fingerprints is proposed. A set of Gabor filters is applied to a fingerprint image. The Gabor feature is obtained by convolving the filter with the image. In pattern matching, a locally maximized similarity is adopted. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated on a real data set of 21 fingerprint images. From experimental results, we verified the effectiveness of combining Gabor features with the locally maximized similarity.
