| 抄録(和) | 人物の顔表情の認識は, 心理学や工学など様々な分野での応用が期待され, 今まで多くの手法が提案されて来た. しかし, そのほとんどは, 顔の特徴部分の動きを表情認識の基本情報としており, その特徴部分の切り出しやオンライン処理時の追従を必要とし, 処理が複雑である. 本報告では, 顔画像の局所領域の切り出しを全く必要としない, 顔画像全体に対する2次元離散コサイン変換(2D-DCT)とニューラルネットワークを用いた新しい表情分析法を提案する. この方法では, 顔画像全体の2D-DCT係数の低周波成分のみをそのままニューラルネットワークに学習させ, 表情空間への非線形マッピングを実現している. 60人の60×4表情の顔画像からなる正規化画像データベースに対して実験を行なった結果, 学習に用いた40人の表情顔画像に対して表情認識率が100%, 残りの未学習表情顔画像に対しては最高で95%の表情認識率を得た. |
| 抄録(英) | A considerable number of studies have been made on facial expression (FE) recognition techniques that are oriented to applications in pshycological and engineering fields. However, almost all of them are based on the extraction of movements of facial muscles in some local areas, which proves to be a difficult and costly task to perform in practise. In this paper, a new technique is proposed which is based on the use of the discrete cosine transform (DCT) of the whole facial image and a feedforward neural network. This technique is applied to a database consisting of samples of 60 persons, each having 5 normalized FE images. 40 person's FE images are used for training the network and 20 person's FE images are used for testing its generalization performance. As a result, the network gave 100% recognition rate for trained samples and maximum recognition rate of 95% for testing samples. |
