Abstract(in English) This peaper presents an expert system, called 3D-IMPRESS which can construct a three dimensional image processing procedure automatically based on a three dimensional sample figure presented by a user as an example of the processing goal. Methods of constructing mass and line pattern extraction procedures have been proposed and implemented for the system. In the paper, a method for automated construction of surface pattern pextraction procedures from three dimensional gray images is described with the results of applying this system to real three dimensional images.
