Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High speed cut detecting method for MPEG encoded video is proposed. The method uses code length of motion vectors, which are included in the bit streams of MPEG encoded video, for calculating similarities of frames. The cuts are detected frame by frame based on the similarities. This method does not require decoding processes of MPEG movies. Therefore, high speed cut detection can be realized. Experimental results show that the error rate of the presented method is sperior to that of the χ^2 testing method and the processing speed of the former is about 10 times as fast as that of the other.
