Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IMPRESS is an expert system to construct automatically an image processing procedure for extracting a figure corresponding to the sample figure given by a user.In this paper,a "sequential" method to construct a single procedure commonly applicable to many input pairs of an original image and a sample figure is proposed for the system. This method constructs a procedure sequentially with using the whole sample pairs at every step of the construction process. In the paper,an application of this method to extraction of defect parts on the surface of integrated circuit packages is described with promising results.
