Edge Detection in Wave-form of Cleanness-neatness Defects on Threads with Fuzzy If-Then Rules

Abstract(in English) The test of cleanness-neatness on threads was carried out by examining Personnel who sensuously classified them according to their shape. In the test, size of the defect was determined by length between its start edge and the end one on the thread. To develop an automatic system for the test, a model with fuzzy If-Then rules relating the edges detected by examining personnel to the ones of wave-forms measured by laser detectors was proposed. Experimental evaluation of the proposed method with the model had smaller error than that of currently used method in edge detection.
