Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new measure of evaluating variation on hand-written characters was proposed, and its performance was examined. Characteristics of the measure include both microscopic and macroscopic variation. Because its value was given by the difference of the number of pixels between two areas correspondingly partitioned off from the two letters according to the pyramid structure, the measure was named Pyramid Structure Variation. Evaluating the variation of characters written by three persons, the values obtained were appropriate for the order of the hand-written variation.
