Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the previous paper, an extraction algorithm for character strings on a color document image was proposed. For all components extracted from a monochromatic image, we apply the relaxation method repeatedly which increases or decreases mutual connections depending on the neighbor's states. The process proceeds from local concatenation to global one. However some wrong strings are included in the extracted ones. In this paper, we tried to select correct character strings from the string candidates according to some definitions of likelihood of character strings.
