Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are developing a human interface using a stick as the input device. In this paper we consider that gesture, which is the subject of recognition, is drawn on a 2-dimensional plane, and propose a recognition method of that 2-dimensional trajectory on the plane using directional features. From an experimental result of gesture recognition of drawn numbers, we obtained recognition rate of over 94%. We also performed wireless command input system with this method and confirmed the usefulness of the proposed gesture recognition method.
