Spotting Recognition System of Gestures using Shape Features from Gray-scale Image Sequence

Abstract(in English) We have studied spotting recognition of human gestures from time-varying images. But the previous work focused on motion detection using time-differential image sequence. Therefore, in this paper, we try to develop a new recognition system which can get the shape or direction information of hands. And using this information, the system can distinguish gestures even when their motion features are similar to one another. Evaluation experiments using 42 gestures show the effectiveness of the proposed feature.
